About the Role:
The Account Manager II independently manages a portfolio of both large and small group Employee Benefit clients. This role serves as a trusted partner to our clients and Employee Benefits Advisors. They apply deep technical knowledge and sound judgment to complex service needs and will help strengthen the Account Management team through mentoring, training, and shared improvement work. We have internal teams to support you through the RFP process, tech builds, as well as claims advocacy. We have a 1:1 model to support you: each Account Manager on the team has a dedicated Assistant Account Manager!

What you will Do:
- Own and manage day-to-day service for a portfolio of Employee Benefit client accounts, both large and small groups..
- Build strong client relationships by anticipating needs, resolving issues, setting clear expectations, and communicating timely updates.
- Partner with Employee Benefits Advisors throughout renewals, Open Enrollment, new client onboarding, and ongoing client services.
- Apply your knowledge of plan designs, funding arrangements, carrier rules, and service requirements to guide client work and identify risks or gaps.
- Coordinate accurate and timely client deliverables, employee communications, carrier submissions, plan documents, and system updates.
- Lead or participate in client meetings and presentations, including implementation, Open Enrollment, and ongoing service meetings.
- Maintain accurate client files and protect confidential information in accordance with HIPAA, privacy, and firm requirements.
- Support benefits technology implementations and ongoing systems need to help ensure a clear and positive client experience.
- Serve as a subject-matter resource within Account Management and contribute to training, department projects, workflow improvements, and consistent service standards.
- Stay current on industry trends, agency technology, compliance requirements, and carrier guidelines that affect client strategy and service delivery.
Qualifications
- High school degree
- Current CA Life & Health Insurance license
- 5+ years’ relevant employee benefits account management, insurance, or benefits administration experience
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state requirements related to employee benefits, including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ERISA.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as ability to learn new applications. Experience with Employee Navigator a plus.
