About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our independent insurance agency. This key role will oversee the financial accuracy and efficiency of our insurance accounting processes, especially those involving premium payments to and commission payments from Insurance Carriers. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset.
What you will Do:
- You will work in our beautiful SLO office 5 days a week.
- Provide oversight for the Direct Bill processing
- Generate and issue client invoicing
- Monitor Accounts Receivable
- Process collection of cash and the reconciliation of client accounts
- GL and AP Management
- Provide backup for payroll processing
- Support month-end and year-end closings activity
- Assist with auditing, budgeting and internal controls

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years in a senior level accounting role
- Strong understanding of AR, AP, Payroll and GL accounting principles
- Experience with direct billing processes
- Strong Excel and accounting software platform experience
